What are dermal fillers?

Revanesse® Versa™+ and Revanesse® Lips™+ are FDA approved hyaluronic acid fillers which are injected beneath the skin.  Revanesse® Versa™+ treats moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds while Revanesse® Lips™+ is used for submucosal implantation for lip augmentation. 

These gel-like substances are mainly comprised of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body which is excellent for hydration. 

Hyaluronic acid can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water–1/4 teaspoon of hyaluronic acid can hold about 1 1/2 gallons of water. Because of it’s ability to hydrate,  synthetic, plant-based versions of hyaluronic acid have been developed and are commonly added to skincare products, injected into the body, or taken orally as supplements. 

Dermal fillers are a cost-effective alternative to elective plastic surgery procedures. Results are temporary but typically last 6 months or more.

After Injection

Immediately after injections, you may apply ice to the treatment area to ease swelling and bruising. Keeping your head elevated also helps to reduce risk of swelling. Stay hydrated and drink lots of fluids after your appointment!

Before we begin

In the days leading up to your appointment, avoid the use of blood thinners, including Aspirin, Motrin, ibuprofen, and Aleve. Skip anti-aging products containing Retinol and refrain from bleach, waxing, or tweezing the area to be injected. Stay away from alcoholic beverages.

Skin Care Routine

Following a skin care routine including daily cleansing, moisturizing, sun care, and treatment with premium skin care products will help maintain and maximize the life of your fillers.
