What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel involves applying a scientifically formulated chemical solution to the skin causing the top layer of skin cells to dry out and eventually slough, or peel, off. This process allows for removal of the damaged outer layers of skin plus production of new skin cells and collagen to improve the texture, tone, and elasticity of skin on the treated area.
Boost Beauty Boutique uses only PCA Skin professional peels. These peels range in strength from very mild to clinical strength. A mild peel will result in slight exfoliation/peeling for just a couple of days. Stronger peels result in more exfoliation and a longer recovery time. The team at Boost will help you choose the peel right for your skin.
Chemical peels are most commonly applied to the face but can be used all over the body – legs, arms, chest, hands, etc. – to reduce the appearance of scars, hyper-pigmentation (dark spots), keratosis pilaris, and other skin imperfections.

Before we begin
You’ll be shown into our spa treatment room with a comfortable, reclining chair, plush blankets, and soothing music. We hope you’ll find yourself quite relaxed as we begin your treatment with a gentle cleanse to remove all make-up and product from your skin.
During your peel
There will be some itching and burning sensations to the treated area during your peel. But not to worry, your practitioner will monitor you and keep you as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure. Depending on your skin, your target results, and a variety of other factors, your practitioner will apply 1 - 3 layers of the PCA Skin peel solution. The treated skin may appear red and feel tight for a few hours after a chemical peel.
After your peel
Leave your skin make-up free for 1-3 days after treatment. Wash with a gentle cleanser in warm–not hot–water morning and night. We recommend using CliniCalm™ 1% from PCA Skin to relieve any itching and irritation. Avoid all harsh or abrasive products and treatments for at least a week. Be sure to wear sunscreen and stay out of the sun following a peel.
